The Healer descended.
He placed His hand on me.
He said, “Be still my son,
For my wrath I’ve appeased.”
Then He called me beloved,
Though I’m covered in filth.
He washed and clothed me,
Because His blood was spilt.
I said, “Lord I’ve sinned,
I’ve broken your law.”
But He said, “Son I love you,
So I faced death’s maw.
Repent of your errs,
Your rebellion and sin.
Come sit at my table,
Welcome home; welcome in.”
“Jesus, how can it be,
That a sinner so base,
Should be high and exalted,
With You in Your space?
I was born in the ashes,
In the dirt I grew up.
I’m not fit for Your courts,
I’m a lifelong screw up.”
“Hush now my child.
What’s past is gone.
I’ve paid your debt.
My will has been done.
For you I descended,
From on high to the pit.
I grappled with death,
And I defeated it.
Now because you believe,
And have surrendered your heart;
You are mine forever,
And I will never depart.”
Oh what joy!
What glorious grace!
The crown King of heaven,
Has invaded this place.
He comes to all,
Who invite Him in.
He brings mercy and love;
Forgiveness of sin.
He saves from death,
And the power of hell.
To bring us to glory;
Eternal life that’s lived well.
Pleasure and joy,
Forever and more.
With Jesus there’s hope;
Turn to Him I implore.
His love is for you.
He always has been.
It’s us who don’t see Him,
But He’s coming back again.
Even though we rejected,
Our present and future King.
He delights to redeem us,
So join in and sing.
The best is to come,
For all those in Christ.
Accept His free mercy,
And surrender your life.
