“Hush now my child;
I’ve made your sin mine.
You dwell no more in darkness,
But with the Divine.”
But Lord I am,
In so much pain.
How can I rise up,
And go out again?
How can I face,
The darkness outside?
I just want to huddle,
Take shelter and hide.
“Take refuge in me My son,
Please do.
But know that I have,
Work for you to do.
But fear not that you,
Will be left alone.
I will not forsake you,
To be on your own.
For you know I descended,
In glorious Light,
To stomp on the serpent,
And win the great fight.
All this I did,
In selfless love.
To restore you to heaven,
With me above.
Now at this time,
As my kingdom invades.
I have tasks for you,
And people to save.
So be of good courage,
And do not fear.
Though the road is rocky,
I’ll count up your tears.
Nothing you lose,
For My sake is lost.
Now pick up your cross,
And leave off the dross.
As you follow Me,
In this world I will change,
Every old habit,
You used to engage.
I will teach you how,
To be selfless like Me.
I will lead and sustain you,
To help others, you see?
The day will soon come,
When I call you home.
You will never be thirsty,
Around My great throne.
But before the time comes,
For you to ascend,
There’s slaves to be freed,
And shackles to rend.
I’ve made you my son,
To bear My image.
To tell those around you,
Of My glorious visage.
So strap on your armor,
And take up your shield.
I’ve strengthened and called you;
Get into the field.
Submit to the Spirit,
His mercy and love.
And by His enabling,
Speak truth in love.
Declare of My goodness,
And mercy for sin.
Tell those lost in darkness,
King Jesus did win.
Give hope to the captives;
Burst open their cage.
Fear not the enemy;
Despise his rage.”
Lord Jesus You are,
My victorious King.
I will fear not the dragon,
Nor death’s feeble sting.
For what has the Lion,
To fear from the beasts?
Lord Jesus You roar,
And evil retreats.
Fill me with Your Spirit;
Cleanse me of my sin.
Take me with You to battle;
To conquer and win.
