I Will Proclaim

Heat, flame,

misery and pain.

The darkness surrounds me;

Still I will proclaim.

The manifold excellencies,

Of Yahweh in Christ.

Though God in heaven,

He knows mortal life.

He drank deep of our weakness.

By taking on flesh.

He was beaten and bloodied;

Like wheat He was threshed.

He knew no sin,

But ours He took on.

Like the bronze serpent,

A cross He was raised on.

Jesus didn’t deserve,

To taste mortal death.

Though perfect He suffered,

Until His last breath.

As He breathed out,

His victory cry.

The curtain was sundered,

In just reply.

It is finished; It’s done.

Yahweh is victorious.

Jesus descended and rose,

He’s eternally glorious.

He went into the grave,

For only three days.

He proclaimed to dark forces,

“I’ve freed all your slaves!”

He walked out of the tomb,

In majestic delight.

He proclaimed to the apostles,

“I’ve beaten death’s bite.”

We’ve no more to fear,

When we trust in Him.

If we make Him our Lord,

We will rise again.

Though suffering and pain,

In this world we face;

We have been reborn,

By Jesus’ grace.

When from this life,

We do move on.

We will only know joy,

Forever and on.

Make use of the time,

For on earth it is short.

We’ve only this vapor,

From Him to report.

Report of His goodness,

And mercy for sin.

To tell of His kingdom;

He did conquer and win.

He’s the Lion of Judah;

The victorious Lamb.

He is loving and gracious,

To those from all lands.

All those who suffer,

And all those in pain;

Take refuge in Jesus,

And gladly proclaim.

Proclaim of His love,

And His mercy for you.

Testify of His grace,

In all you’ve been through.

In all that He does,

He is faithful and just.

The Most High in the heavens;

We can only Him trust.
