Lord Please Help Me

Lord please help me,

To be faithfully Humble

And when pride does come,

Take Your gloves off and rumble.

Deliver and save me,

From besetting sin.

Drive out and trample,

This darkness within.

The Lord is a warrior.

Yahweh is His name.

He conquers and rescues,

The children He’s claimed.

Lord Jesus my heart,

Is defiantly wicked.

Apart from Your Spirit,

It’s useless; Insipid.

Though You have saved me,

The battle rages still.

Indeed You have raised me,

But my heart bucks Your will.

Though the war has been won,

Sin yet remains.

Please in Your mercy,

Prevent transgressing again.

No man can prevail,

By his own might.

Only in Christ,

Can one win this fight.

My Lord You descended,

Perfectly humble.

Without raising a fist,

You caused death to tumble.

You conquered our sin,

With your selfless sacrifice.

Your blood was our ransom;

It alone did suffice.

Now when we believe,

In Your holy name.

We are immediately freed,

And from death we are raised.

Though victory is certain,

And already obtained.

Dear Lord please help me,

To not sin again.

Please make me humble,

And selfless like You.

Please help me to love You,

And all others too.

Lord make me useful,

In Your capable hand.

Cleanse me of pride,

To declare Your fame in all lands.

Let me not hinder,

Your work with my sin.

Here, take my heart Lord,

And fully move in.

Have Your way,

In my spirit Most High.

Take and remake me,

To see with Your eyes.

Yet You have told us,

In this world we’ll still sin.

But also Your grace,

Still welcomes us in.

When you redeem,

A sinner to You.

You devour our failings,

Past and future too.

Your Grace knows no bounds;

Your humility no equal.

Thank You Lord Jesus,

For redeeming Your people.
