The Coming One

The Coming One is coming,

And He will not delay.

Partake of His free mercy;

At His feet your heart lay.

He is here, and He’s working,

For His lost sheep to save.

It’s for Him our souls are thirsting,

We were made for Him to crave.

Union with Him was severed,

By our rebellious choice.

Back to Him we can be gathered,

When we call out with our voice.

He came at first to save us;

Because we’re all condemned.

He came to help and heal us;

Our broken souls to mend.

It is Him that we were made for;

To worship and enjoy.

We will find no satisfaction,

In another god’s employ.

The one true God is Jesus;

He died for all our sin.

He rose and then ascended,

And He’s coming back again.

He has not left us here,

To grieve and hurt alone.

Though He is in heaven,

He’s made our hearts His home.

When we trust in Jesus,

His Spirit dwells in us.

He instructs us in the truth,

And builds our spiritual truss.

One important fact,

He tells us to declare:

One day He will return,

And of this we must beware.

He hasn’t yet because;

He wants many to repent.

His desire is to save us.

That’s why He first was sent.

His mercy is for all,

Who call upon His name.

One day He’ll return in glory,

And destroy evil in the flame.

Only those who trust Him,

Can enjoy His new world.

He won’t force us to love Him;

Be not like swine before the pearls.

The day of His return,

Is firmly fixed in place.

The reason He is waiting,

Is His sovereign grace.

Of when He will return,

No one can know the day.

He could come at any moment.

So trust in Him and don’t delay.

The coming One is coming,

And surely won’t delay.

To escape His righteous judgment,

Trust in Him;

The only way.
