I am a speck of dust,
Yet God knows my name.
I could not be more obscure,
He could not possess more fame.
He is infinitely holy,
Marvelous and light.
The universe is His,
By divine, legal right.
Yahweh, Lord of hosts,
Who am I to You?
How is it that You know me,
And love me through and through?
Who am I,
That You should be mine?
A passing shadow,
Yet I know the Divine.
Across the span of space and time;
Barely do I appear.
A puff of smoke; A passing mist,
One could hardly know I was here.
Enthroned in the heavens,
You stride upon the clouds.
The earth beneath our feet is Yours,
And all that it surrounds.
You hold the sun in place,
And chart the course of stars.
You also know my face,
And have not remained afar.
From the very start,
You walked and spoke with us.
Now though our sin has severed,
You’ve not forgotten us.
We are your precious children,
And though we have rebelled;
You’ve stopped at nothing to restore us,
Defeating every power of hell.
You know all of our names.
You count our every tear.
Though You are Most High in heaven,
To us You do draw near.
You’ve come to us,
In glorious light.
You’ve defeated darkness.
You’ve won the fight.
You’ve made me Your,
Beloved son.
Death is defeated.
The war is won.
You stopped at nothing,
To reclaim,
Your children who fell,
Into the grave.
You dove down deep,
And wrestled our sin.
With Your mercy and love,
Jesus, You did win.
You are my God;
My greatest Friend.
I will love you forever,
And enjoy life without end.
