The Good Lord Has Come

The good Lord has come,
And He’s made a way.
To save us from death,
His own life He did lay.

He paid our ransom;
We were slaves of death.
To purchase us back,
He gave up His breath.

Rise up and praise,
The Giver of life.
In His humble mercy,
He ended our strife.

Jesus is righteous;
Majestic and true.
We see how He loves us,
By what He went through.

Though He is enthroned,
In splendor and light.
He became helpless,
To show us His might.

He has existed,
Since before time began,
But He took on flesh,
To live as a man.

Our state, it was hopeless;
Cut off from our King.
But our Lord did descend,
To hide us under His wing.

Though tempted and tried,
He broke not God’s law.
When the enemy attacked,
He shattered its jaw.

He didn’t deserve it,
But died in our place.
That we might live,
And gaze on His face.

He died and was buried,
In a tomb for three days.
And then He rose,
To the sound of heaven’s praise.

He now sits enthroned,
In heaven above.
He is building His Kingdom,
Through us with His love.

Come one and all;
Accept His free gift.
With His own cross,
He did bridge the rift.

The rift that existed,
Between God and man,
Has now been closed,
By His gracious plan.

The Good Lord has come;
And shed His own blood.
In His mercy He’s raised,
Us up from the mud.

Trust now in Him,
And praise Jesus’ name.
With His own life,
He saved us from flame.
