In Loving Memory Of Jonesy Jones,
My Friend and Brother In Christ.
Lord Jesus come quickly;
This world’s full of death.
Descend and restore us,
With Your life-giving breath.
Down here it seems,
When one rises, ten fall.
The specter of death,
Casts on all life, a pall.
It haunts our footsteps,
And snaps at our heels.
Everyone down here,
From grief of death reels.
It binds us with chains;
It cuts short our youth.
We long for your Kingdom,
Full of grace and truth.
We mourn for the lost;
We weep and we groan.
Lord of life please bring,
To this earth Your throne.
Lord Yahweh of hosts,
Our Compassionate King,
Please return to earth,
And restore everything.
My blessed Redeemer,
All this You know well.
For down here You died,
And experienced hell.
Cut off from the Father,
To bear all our sin,
You wrestled with death,
To conquer and win.
You strangled the serpent,
And tore loose its jaw.
You showed Your great strength,
And trampled its maw.
You rose from the dead,
And so now we say:
‘Our Lord Christ has risen;
He has made a way.’
You carved out a path,
To raise us to life.
With the blood of Your cross,
You’ve ended our strife.
Bless Your name Jesus;
All glory is yours.
From Your holy mountain,
Peace and Life pours.
Thank You for life now,
And the future in store;
Thank You for descending,
And rising with a great roar.
We need not fear death,
In fact, it we despise.
At the cross of the Lamb,
It met its demise.
Praise our God Jesus!
Rise up all and sing!
Come bask in the love,
Of our glorious King!
All who trust Jesus,
Need never fear death.
He forever sustains us,
With His gracious breath.
Come worship this King,
Who offers to you,
Sweet life and pure joy,
That’s never ending and true.
