Tick Tock Goes The Clock

Tick tock goes the clock;
Another day in the stock,
Of sickness, despair, fatigue and pain.
When will I ever see sunshine again?

Darkness, it surrounds me,
My head severely pounds.
Of suffering and sorrow,
This life always abounds.

Help me, please help me.
Is anybody there?
I’m trapped and I can’t move,
I’m chained tight to despair.

The weight of this deep sorrow;
Pitch black and darkest night,
Is making me hollow;
I’ve no strength left to fight.

My heart indeed is shattered;
Trampled on the ground.
The tears I’ve wept have spattered,
And soaked everything around.

But wait now, what is this?
I see the black mist clear.
The Dark, it is receding;
One clothed in light comes near.

His eyes, they are like fire;
His face is fiercely kind.
Why does He come to me,
A sinner base and unrefined?

The enemy all around,
Shrieks and screams in rage.
But He batters them away,
And draws near to my cage.

Struck by His strength and beauty,
I look down to the ground.
But He lifts my face to look at Him,
And says, “At last you’re found!

My child, I heard your cry,
Into this dark, bleak night.
So I descended from on high,
For you, my sheep, to fight.

For, call on Me, you must,
To be free of death’s cage.
When in Me you trust,
Death must from you disengage.”

Then I said, “Lord Jesus,
Surely You are God.
Please take me as Your servant,
To forever with You trod.”

He smiled at me and said,
“I will indeed do this and more.
I’ve raised you from the dead;
Eternal life and joy’s in store.

You will join Me in my Kingdom,
And rule with many others.
All those who’ve accepted freedom,
Are your new sisters and brothers.”

Then He burst my bonds asunder,
And smote the Enemy.
As He conquers we’re His plunder,
Who He gives new identity.

Bless the name of Jesus;
Sing to Him and kiss His feet.
He turns no one away,
And offers love complete.
