Please hear me dear Jesus,
It is to You I vent.
I am weary and shattered;
My strength is all spent.
Many tears I have shed,
As this pain persists.
Pray though I may Lord,
This misery won’t desist.
Surely I’ve been struck,
By arrows flung from Your hand.
Against You oh Yahweh,
Who among men can stand?
I rise not, but fall,
And sink in the mud.
The cruelty of life,
Is an incessant flood.
I struggle and crawl,
Through miserable pain.
But I know that in You,
Suffering is my gain.
To You my Lord,
My feeble heart clings.
King Jesus the mighty,
Peace to my heart brings.
Refuge is found in,
Your presence alone.
Though enthroned in the heavens;
You hear my every groan.
Have regard for me Lord;
Take pity on me.
Condescend to give aid,
And set my heart free.
You know what it’s like,
To writhe in the dirt.
With the stripes on Your back,
You bore our every hurt.
You are the God who sees,
And grieves over our pain.
You have also promised,
Soon we’ll not know it again.
You’ve kept count of my tears,
And shed seas of Your own.
Like me You were cut down,
As soon as You’d grown.
But Death could not hold You;
You devoured the beast.
You will raise and restore me;
I will soon with You feast.
I trust You King Jesus;
Bind me with cords of love.
By the nose lead me,
Home to Your courts above.
You lift up the downtrodden;
From the muck and the dust.
You give seats of honor,
To those who in You trust.
Sustain me Lord Jesus,
My Savior and Shield.
As I sputter and gasp,
For air in the field.
By Your grace I will see you,
In glory above.
Father help me to cling to,
Your mercy and love.
