At the age of 26 my life came to a screeching halt as debilitating chronic pain and illness invaded my world overnight. I went from being a Marine Corps veteran close to graduating university with an engineering degree, and having many promising career prospects on the horizon, to an invalid so overwhelmed by pain and anguish that I wanted to die. At the time of publishing this book, I have lived for over 7 years with constant, severe and debilitating pain that has shattered my dreams for life, but I have chosen to cling to life and carry on each day because of the hope, joy and eternal purpose Jesus has given to me to overcome hopelessness and despair. In this book I emphasize that true faith does not guarantee immediate healing but offers a profound, sustaining hope through Jesus Christ, who is the central hero in all of our stories, especially in times of crisis.
