Come Back To The Light

Come back dear one,
Come back to the Light.
Tread not into darkness;
Forsake the cruel night.

Please do not wander,
And stray into sin.
These things will destroy you;
Against them you can’t win.

The lie told by sin,
Is that it will make you free.
But it corrupts and erodes,
The person you’re meant to be.

To sin is not freedom;
It’s slavery to death.
False idols bind tightly,
And squeeze out all breath.

The true Light descended,
To set all captives free.
He gives hope, peace and freedom,
To you and to me.

His name is Jesus;
The true, living God.
He breaks all chains of darkness,
With which we’ve been shod.

He created you to know,
Love and live with Him.
He came down here below,
To deliver us from darkness dim.

He loves you so deeply;
It is you He died for.
Jesus bore all our sorrows,
To raise us to life and more.

He died in our place;
For us He was killed and buried,
So that into His kingdom,
You and I could be ferried.

He rose from the grave,
After only three days.
In love He did pave,
A path to have life always.

Come to the Fountain,
Drink and be restored.
Be refreshed by the mercy,
Of Him by whom you’re adored.

Come back dear one,
Come back to your King.
Flourish and bask in the light,
Of the One who gave everything.

He is eagerly waiting,
For you to return.
It is not His desire,
That any should burn.

He wants you to,
Enjoy eternal life.
Life that is full of joy;
And bereft of all strife.

Come to the Lord Jesus;
He is on your side.
With all who trust in Him,
He will forever abide.
