Come Meet The Lord Jesus

Come meet the Lord Jesus;
He’s a pleasure to know.
You will find no-one like Him,
Wherever you go.

No greater friend,
Will you know on this earth.
He has loved and adored you,
Even before your birth.

Though enthroned in the heavens,
Glorious and exalted on high,
He knows you by name,
And on you has His eye.

He is beautiful, kind,
Almighty and just.
He asks nothing from you,
Except your love and trust.

He is worthy of these,
And infinitely more.
Although we’re cut off from Him,
His blood opened the door.

We seperated ourselves,
From Him with our sin.
But He died in our place;
His beard ripped from His chin.

Rarely would anyone,
Die for those who’re good.
But to die for an enemy?
Only the Lord Jesus would.

We are all born condemned,
For rejecting our God.
But our merciful Lord,
In our place faced the rod.

For us He was shattered,
And crushed on the beam.
He drank down our sorrows,
And faced untold suffering.

Why would He do this,
For you and for me?
Why did He humbly,
Submit to death on a tree?

He did so for love;
He’s full of grace and truth.
To raise us with Him above,
He was pierced by Death’s tooth.

As His blood poured,
Our pardon was signed.
Our ransom He paid,
And restored sight to the blind.

Though once lost in the dark,
We’ve now seen a great Light.
To all He bids welcome,
And to eternal life does invite.

Come meet your Maker,
Who died and rose for you.
Know the love of the One,
Who for you Death went through.

Come meet the Lord Jesus,
The lover of your soul.
Meet the One who was broken,
That you might be made whole.
