My strength melts like wax,
When met with a flame.
Yet I still tarry,
On this mortal plane.
My body’s too strong to die,
But too sick to live.
Yet God in His mercy,
Much grace does He give.
He taught me, it’s important,
To number our days.
For mankind’s life is short,
And ends one of two ways.
The time will soon come,
For us to go home.
No more as exiles,
Will we wander and roam.
My home is in heaven,
With my Lord, God and King.
He purchased for me a place,
With His own suffering.
I will not dwell there,
Because I deserve it.
If you ask me of hell,
I’d say my life’s incurred it.
Like everyone, I’m guilty,
Of breaking God’s laws.
But our Lord in His mercy,
Snatched me from Death’s jaws.
We are all born,
Enslaved to Death and Sin.
But Jesus came down,
To bring us up and in.
He is the Good Shepherd;
The just Judge of all things.
He also is loving;
To us mercy He brings.
He laid down His own life,
For our sin to pay.
His earthly years were cut short,
To rescue us from decay.
Though infinite and eternal,
All-powerful and holy,
The Divine’s blood was shed,
To redeem our souls fully.
As we live on this earth,
He’s set before us a choice.
Accept new birth in His kingdom;
Hearken to His true voice.
The alternative that,
You and I face,
Is to reject His free offer,
To rescue our doomed race.
All of humanity,
By His hands were made.
To die cut off from the Vine,
Is to eternally fade.
He does not desire,
That any should perish.
Every soul born of men,
Our good Lord does cherish.
All praise to King Jesus,
My Savior and Friend.
By His mercy and grace,
This painful life we transcend.
All who trust Him,
Shall be reborn,
To eternal life in His kingdom,
Where none suffer or mourn.
