Of all the prophets and great teachers past,
None when faced with death could last.
Except the One come from on high;
He’s alive today though He did die.
Apart from Him our fate is hopeless;
We’re cut adrift; our souls are homeless.
To restore the peace twixt God and man,
Jesus obeyed the Father’s plan.
To give to us new life and home,
Jesus came to bring shalom.
Jesus the Christ died in our place,
To wrap us in a warm embrace.
By His own will He did agree,
To die for us upon a tree,
Crucified with arms spread wide,
To raise us to life by His side.
His own blood paid full our debt;
In doing so our fate reset.
This Man, He is the greatest Teacher,
But He’s no created creature.
He clearly said that He is God,
As up and down this earth He trod.
Can one claiming to be God be great?
On this thought we should meditate.
He also said that He would rise;
To heed His word indeed is wise.
For Jesus is the greatest Teacher,
And more than just a gifted preacher.
This great Teacher is a student,
And this thought is not impudent.
As He wept and wailed aloud,
He learned from what Father allowed.
Hebrews says He learned to obey;
He’s the incarnate Lord Yahweh.
So let us learn from Him to learn,
That by hard lessons we might earn,
Experiential wisdom and knowledge;
Let hard knocks to us be college.
Jesus the Christ is Teacher-King,
And through tough times to us does bring,
Compassion, perfect peace, and love,
Flowing from His throne above.
Jesus is risen indeed;
He conquered Death and has decreed,
All who trust Him shall not die,
But be raised with Him on high.
So harken to the true God-Man,
Who obeyed the Father’s plan.
By faith in Him you will learn much;
Reach out, take His hand and clutch.
