When our cries are met with silence and pain,
As tears of sorrow fall down like rain,
It is very tempting to give in to despair.
To hold fast we must receive strength, but from where?
As vessels we must receive strength from without,
From the God who made us, and hears all our shouts.
He does not listen with passive indifference;
He hastens to aid us with gracious deliverance.
Jesus does not forsake His precious Sheep;
He draws near to hold them close as they weep.
As our tears of sorrow pool up at His feet,
He provides us with comfort so tender and sweet.
He fills us with strength, no power can shake;
Certainly not that defeated snake.
Our Lord has crushed its head ‘neath His heel;
This remains true no matter what we may feel.
Declare the truth as you walk in the dark;
Add fuel to the flame the Spirit did spark.
We may in this world face trial and shame,
But the risen Lord Jesus, to us He has claim.
Every dark night will give way to new dawn;
This true fact, we must rest upon.
As vessels of Christ into us He does pour,
Grace, comfort, strength, and much more.
He takes what the enemy intends for evil,
And uses it to bring in righteous upheaval.
The gospel of Christ tells of His coming kingdom,
Where from sorrow and sin, we will know lasting freedom.
When we trust in Him we’re adopted as sons,
And sent out to share good news with everyone.
He fills us with His Holy Spirit for this;
That many more brethren might know this sweet bliss.
So as you endure the harshness of this Earth,
Recall to mind often you’ve reason for mirth.
Take your tears to Jesus, but also look around;
Share the gospel with others that they too might be found.
Our time here below will indeed be short;
Use each day given to share and report,
That all may join the coming kingdom of Christ,
For by His own blood He paid our ransom price.
