Like a lamb Christ is gentle;
His heart’s full of compassion for you.
His love is not merely sentimental;
For His death showed His love is true.
He’s the God of all creation,
Who chose to suffer and die.
He is the full propitiation;
Payment for our sin He did supply.
Though He’s Lord of the universe,
Jesus is humble and lowly.
He alone the dark can disperse,
For He’s the Most High God and Holy.
He is the Lamb who was slain;
He allowed His blood to be shed.
To free us from sin, death and pain,
Like grapes His flesh was tread.
Nailed to a cross He faced death;
Then was buried, covered and sealed.
Though He was left bereft of breath,
In 3 days His power ‘oer death was revealed.
Though He died, this gentle Lamb rose;
Christ is the victorious Lion.
In gentle strength He defeated His foes,
To the resounding praise of all Zion.
Jesus’ tomb now sits empty,
And yours can be too.
Consider the great extent He,
Went to, to do this for you.
Come friend, accept His free offer,
Of eternal life now through faith.
To be free of death’s coffer,
Trust the words that He did saith.
The first time that He came,
He gave us mercy and grace.
He bore all the sin and shame,
Accrued by Adam’s fallen race.
Yet with His second coming,
He will bring judgement on all the Earth.
Those who’ve trusted will be running,
To greet His return with joy and mirth.
But woe to those who’ve rejected,
This gentle Son of Man.
For all will be resurrected,
And before His throne will stand.
Those who’ve trusted Christ,
Will be acquitted for their sin.
But those who’ve spurned His sacrifice,
Will to Heaven not come in.
Come one, come all to the King;
To reject this gift would be mental.
To all who trust, He’s welcoming;
Accept the grace of Christ the gentle.
