The Ancient Of Days

Come lay down your burden;
Rest in the Ancient of days.
He is gracious and loving in all of His ways.

He delights to unburden,
All of His sheep;
To comfort and console them as they weep.

Come to the fountain,
Cool your feet in the stream;
Know the restful joy that exceeds any dream.

Yahweh’s marvelous mountain,
Is no longer shut.
With His own cross, the way, Jesus cut.

That which was lost,
Since our exile from Eden,
Jesus restored with His own bleedin’.

He fully paid the cost,
For our rebellion and sin.
To raise us to life and bring us within.

The road to destruction,
Is oft’ travelled and broad.
To open the narrow way, Jesus faced the rod.

He removed every obstruction,
With His sacrifice.
His Divine blood paid our ransom price.

He went into the grave,
But there, did not stay.
He rose back to life and paved the way.

Jesus the Christ is mighty to save;
He’s eternally existent,
And His love is persistent.

His desire is that,
In Him we would find rest;
For you and me, He wants what is best.

At the right hand of the Father He’s sat,
Of all time and space He is co-regent.
Our King is alive; He is not decedent.

Jesus, our God, is exceedingly gracious;
He came down from above,
To show us steadfast love.

He brings us into pastures spacious,
As He builds up and restores,
Us whom He adores.

Jesus is the best,
And He’s ruler of all.
To all who are weary He sends forth this call:

“Come find true rest,
In the Ancient of Days;
Join in with Heaven and sing of His praise.”
