Whilst we dwell neath’ this terrestrial lid,
Of pain we will not be rid;
Into the grave all will be slid.
There is beauty here below,
But we often face sorrow;
And soon to Heaven we will go.
Christ has broken every seal,
Someday every ill, He’ll heal,
For He’s gracious and genteel.
He whose name is Love,
In grace descended like a dove,
To lift us up with Him above.
Jesus joined us in the mire,
Though our case indeed was dire,
In our place He faced the fire.
Paid for our sin, He hath.
He took the full force of God’s wrath,
To forge for us a path.
Like us, He became dust,
And to be saved all that we must,
Do is look to Him and trust.
Jesus Christ is Lord of all,
And though we are born sin’s thrall,
In our place He chose to fall.
Though dead and buried, He arose,
And His resurrection shows,
He’s defeated all His foes.
Those who trust Him, too shall rise,
By faith His righteousness applies;
Look now to Him with open eyes.
Behold the Christ in all His glory,
See Him enter in our story,
To save us with His death, gory.
His heart is full of love for you;
No matter what you have been through,
He offers freely, life anew.
What He gives to us is, grace,
Even though we spurned His face,
He laid His life down in our place.
His name is Love and He is king,
Over each and every thing,
For Him, let us rise and sing.
Come to the fount of every blessing;
Christ the King who I’m professing,
Comforts all those He’s possessing.
