The Most High is holy, marvelous and light;
Where His radiance shines forth, there can be no night.
Sin separates us from God, which means death;
He is the source of all life from whom we receive breath.
If a baby bird willfully falls from its nest,
It will not be long, until by death it’s possessed.
So it is with us; we’ve chosen to fall.
We did not trust God, or heed His call.
If a branch can’t survive once it’s cut from the vine,
Then how can we live severed from the Divine?
With our sin we’ve divided, and separated from God;
We forsook life and joy to, with death, be shod.
We despised His Word, and broke His commands;
Now we must face what justice demands.
But the relation we’ve destroyed, and dismantled with sin,
Jesus has rejoined, to welcome us in.
Although sin separates, Christ bridged the divide;
On the cross His blood flowed, to raise us by His side.
For our sin He was beaten, forsaken and torn,
That we needn’t, from Him, languish adrift and forlorn.
From His throne above all, He went into the grave,
But He was not subdued by death’s dark wave.
For the power of life resides in His scarred hands;
On the third day Christ rose and forever He stands.
Now all who look to Him are raised up by faith;
Our sin is undone by trusting what He saith.
Although God is just, we receive not what we’re owed;
In mercy God died to bring us to His abode.
Do you feel the weight of sin dragging you down?
Do you long to transcend and receive a crown?
Call out to Jesus, the Lover of your soul;
To bring you back to Him, He died on a pole.
Come be cleansed of the sin that separates you,
From the true living God, and receive life anew.
