My Lord and my God, Your blood was spilt for me,
When You were crushed and torn, on Mount Calvary.
My Savior and King, Jesus the Christ,
The Most High incarnate, for my sin You were sliced.
You were beaten and battered beyond recognition,
Crucified and slaughtered for us; this was Your mission.
You were put in a tomb, because You died,
But You rose in three days; defeating death, You were glorified.
Now by grace through faith all can be saved;
You paid my ransom, and to death I’m no longer enslaved.
Yet my Lord and my God, still down here below,
Like You, I’m acquainted with grief, and beset with sorrow.
My body is wracked with pain, and despair has bitten my heel,
So to you I come, and make my appeal.
My Lord and my God, please deliver me;
Help me to hold fast, amidst this raging sea.
It is to You alone, that I look for peace;
For it is only by Your Word, that this storm will cease.
I know You are with me, but please send fresh strength;
The enemy’s attack is fierce, and I know not its length.
But You, oh Lion of Judah, have made me bold;
By Your power within me, I will bend but not fold.
You are a warrior, and You defeated death.
Now no power of Hell will rob me of Your breath.
My Lord and my God, blessed be Your Name;
Please open my mouth, to declare of Your fame.
You are righteous and holy, glorious and light.
You love to save sinners, and You win every fight.
My Lord and my God, Jesus I love You;
Darkness has helped me see, You only are true.
Blessed be Your Name, Yahweh God of hosts!
You’ve rescued me from flame, and in You my heart boasts.
