Praise God in Heaven, Christ Jesus the Lord,
From His throne on high grace and mercy is poured,
Through faith in Him, to us, life is restored,
He’s the High King of Heaven, forever adored.
He died on the cross to pay for our sin;
Also for glory, and to His Kingdom bring in.
He was crucified and buried; a tomb He was within,
But three days later He rose and shattered death’s chin.
Praise Him now all creation, raise and lift up your voice,
For Jesus Christ has conquered, by death as was His choice.
His blood covered the ground, and with it His brow was moist,
Yet now He is risen, so come believe and rejoice.
The King of kings has delivered this fallen world from the flame,
For with the cross He was crushed and shouldered our blame.
Full of grace and truth, the Word, flesh became,
Fully God and man, Jesus has human frame.
Oh Rock of Ages, of breath You were bereft,
When at the Place of the Skull, for us, You were cleft.
The weight of the world’s sin, in its entirety, You did heft,
And You parried death’s blow, with swiftness quite deft.
For, in three days only, You walked out of the tomb.
You did not remain, buried ‘neath Sheol’s gloom.
You declared to sin’s captives, “I’ve freed you from your doom,
For God’s cup of wrath, I did fully consume.”
Bless Your holy name Jesus; in love You did conquer.
You called sin out to the field, and mightily, proved You are stronger.
Now those who trust You, need fear death no longer;
To all who confess and repent, You’re their life’s Prolonger.
Praise the name of Jesus, let all rise up and sing.
Let us come to His throne, and grateful shouts bring.
He’s the Lord of creation, our past and future King.
In all His works He’s majestic, and with His glory they ring.
