Christ jumped headfirst into the tomb, ‘cause for sin we deserve to die;
To pull us up out the gloom, Jesus paid for Satan’s lie.
I mean the lie that we believed, which is that God’s way isn’t best.
When we were presented with the option, we failed to pass the test.
We’ve all gobbled up the fruit, our God told us not to eat;
We didn’t trust His word and shoot, now with sin’s firing squad we’ll meet.
Yet we are now richly blessed; for us Christ faced righteous judgement.
He alone has passed the test, and for us is an abutment.
He’s the one Way back to God, Who for us is full of love.
In our place Jesus faced the rod, to raise us with Him above.
In this we see true blessing, to live with and know the Christ;
Still, I hear teaching most distressing, and by it many are enticed.
These wolves’ throats are open graves, and their hearts are white washed tombs;
It isn’t money that us saves, but rather greed, it us, consumes.
To call their gospel prosperity,
Is simply tragic hilarity;
They trade the truth for popularity,
And give death to their posterity.
If you desire to truly prosper, to live long and be blessed,
Pick up your cross and follow Jesus; sigh, weep and wail upon His chest.
For there you’ll find eternal blessing, walking hand in hand with the Lord;
And when you find yourself distressing, come to the Fount from whence grace pours.
True prosperity’s found in Jesus; the risen, conquering, slain Lamb;
He came from Heaven not to grieve us; He is the loving great I Am.
Material blessing comes from His hand, for He alone is mighty to save;
But when it doesn’t come as we demand, remember it’s Him that our souls crave.
Blessed are the poor in spirit; those who weep and grieve over sin.
Our sin’s debt; Jesus did clear it, to give us life with Him.
Hardships helps us to trust, and see this world is not our home;
So if your account is looking bust, fear not, one day you will not roam.
We have an inheritance in Heaven, where moth and rust cannot destroy;
Jesus consumed all our sinful leaven, and offers unending joy.
Lift your voice to the King of glory; keep His praise in your mouth.
Those in the hard part of life’s story, soon won’t weep but with joy shout.
For those who sow now in tears, will reap with ecstatic pleasure;
Bring unto Jesus all your fears, and receive, Him, the Eternal Treasure.
