Covered By The Blood

I’m never gonna be separated, ‘cause I’m covered by the blood.
Jesus paid for my sin, He pulled me out of the mud.

We’ve all fallen facefirst, into the miry clay,
And apart from Him, for our sin we all shall pay.

But Christ Jesus is the Author, Who wrote a brand new story;
In love He came from Heaven, full of grace, truth and glory.

The Son of the Most High, He is Yahweh incarnate;
Although He’s truly God, He came not on a red carpet.

He chose to become weak;
Fullness of God in helpless babe.
Born of a virgin meek,
As foretold by the angel Gabe.

Though Mary had many questions, from the start she chose to trust,
And today for you and me, to learn this lesson is a must.

While there’s much that we might wonder, we can trust in the Lamb,
For what can be known is plain: all who believe in Him will stand.

We all will die one day, and then come before our God,
But Jesus said, “I Am the Way, to avoid God’s wrathful rod.

If you repent and trust in Me,
You will not separately,
Fall before God but go free,
‘Cause for you I faced the tree.”

Many ask why we believe Him; because He conquered death.
And though bundled in a grave, in three days regained His breath.

Just as He said He would; that’s right He called His shot.
Before they came to get Him, He said that He’d be caught,

And that He would be raised up, now this means crucified;
But in walking to this doom, it was not a suicide.

This was done to pay for sin, and all our souls regain;
He also said after He died, He would rise back up again.

The best part is that though, His cross was made blood red,
Just as He said He rose, even though He was quite dead.

Now everyone who believes, in the risen Son of Man,
In death will receive life, with Him as was His plan.

So we will never be separated, if we’re covered by the blood;
Jesus paid for our sin, His love flows like a flood.
