Breadcrumbs

Let our words and deeds be breadcrumbs;
A trail leading to the Bread of Life.
For it is they who know Christ that becomes,
Made new and freed from strife.

We have all striven with our Creator;
Forsaken Him, the Giver of breath.
Though twixt us our sin made a crater,
He has bridged it with His own death.

Jesus commissions those He has saved,
To live on in this world for a time,
To preach hope to our fellows enslaved,
To sin in every place and each clime.

Having been blessed we’re to be a blessing,
Sharing the gospel with our fellow man.
Also to others, needs, be addressing,
And so fulfilling our Master’s plan.

We are to share the good news in word,
But also with others in deed.
Through us Jesus’ love is chauffeured,
As spirits and mouths we feed.

For us our Lord forged a path,
Sweeping away every barrier with His blood.
On the cross He bore all God’s wrath,
As love flowed from His side in a flood.

And so as we too sow in tears,
We will reap a great harvest in joy.
Let us now be faithful in our spheres,
To share hope with those in death’s employ.

For our Lord has risen from the dead,
And all who trust Him will too be so raised.
Following Christ, let us press on ahead,
Sharing of Him on whom we’ve fixed our gaze.

For others to know we must tell them;
Beautiful are the feet who share the good news.
Though for sin, us, God did condemn,
All can be saved if we so choose.

Our loving God has paid our ransom;
Now we all join in His victory shout:
Be raised and brought into His hansom,
For Christ is the one true Redoubt!
