Heaven’s Shore

When at last I arrive on Heaven’s shore,
Where pain and sorrow are no more,

I will look on Him Who paid for my sin,
To bring me into His family and make me His kin.

Most days here feel like I’m waiting to die,
As I languish and writhe, looking up, asking, “Why?”.

But one day Christ will wipe away my last tear,
He will comfort me, hold me, and I’ll no longer know fear.

Paradise at last, forever faced with my Lord;
The Fountain of life from Whom all grace is poured.

He is the Rock of Ages Who suffered and died,
In all of our place, to raise us by His side.

A sinner am I, wretched, base and unrefined;
But unto me now, His righteousness is assigned.

Oh matchless wonder, what splendorous joy,
To be freed unto Christ and from death’s cruel employ.

The King of all kings desires both you and me;
For this reason, willingly, He was nailed to a tree.

But then He rose again, and walked out of the tomb.
He trampled the darkness and defeated the gloom.

Now all spiritually poor can be made rich,
For Jesus didn’t leave us to rot in a ditch.

And though in this world we face sadness and trouble,
We will rise, bursting forth, through the muck and the rubble.

We will pass through the veil, the thin curtain of death,
And enter our Lord’s kingdom, receiving eternal breath.

We will surely set foot on the shore of Heaven,
For Jesus the Christ has consumed all our leaven.

We will rise and not fall, for King Jesus, He reigns;
He will grant eternal life to all who He claims.

We are citizens of a kingdom that’s not of this Earth,
We’re raised to life, brought to Heaven, and given rebirth.
