Have you erred; have you stumbled in sin?
Come to the Lord; He will welcome you in.
Call out to Jesus; receive His free grace.
All who trust and repent, He wraps in an embrace.
Our iniquity made a gap between us and God;
For the debt we can’t pay, we’ll be crushed by the rod
All have fallen short; this we must confess,
And as we do God delights to clothe us with righteousness.
For He does not desire that any should perish;
Though we made war with Him, still us, He does cherish.
We all face the same fate; death and damnation,
But to wipe clean our slate, Christ came to our location.
Our God descended as a man, from Heaven above,
To die for our sin, in His mercy and love.
He is our Creator, Christ Jesus the Lord,
Yet He came clothed in flesh, and on the cross His blood poured.
He who formed the mountains, and rules over all lands,
Condescended to be beaten, and have nails put through His hands.
Him whose throne is the heavens, and commands the sea,
Was betrayed for some silver, and hung on a tree.
Yet this was His will, and humbly this He allowed;
To raise us to life with Him, with a whip His back was ploughed.
His body, battered and broken, was placed in a tomb;
Though dead and buried, in three days He rose from the gloom.
For us, He trampled death and is mighty to save.
He bore our sin and shame; Jesus defeated the grave.
Christ is rich in mercy; to Him, now call out.
To all who’re thirsty, He’s a thirst quenching redoubt.
None who come to Him will be turned away.
Jesus’ love is for all; He’s the incarnate Yahweh.
