The King of Righteousness

Let all creation rise up and bless,
Christ Jesus the King of righteousness.

Like honey from the comb, flow the words from His lips.
All who abide in His truth, firmly, He grips.

He is loving, holy, and matchless in power;
To those who trust in Him, He is a strong tower.

He created all things with the word of His mouth,
He’s the King of all kings, north, east, west, and south.

Every knee will bend and confess His dominion,
They who reject Him now, will rue their foolish opinion.

For He is our God, the maker of Earth.
To worship and know Him is of incalculable worth.

There is no one greater, but He is not proud;
He descended from Heaven, suffered and cried aloud.

Being rich in mercy, and overflowing with love,
He came to pay for our sin, from His throne room above.

Christ left the splendor of the holy heights behind,
To be made lowly and weak, that His lost sheep He might find.

The debt we owed for sin was, for us, insurmountable,
And God in His perfect justice, would’ve had to hold us accountable.

But He’s not only just, He is loving and gracious,
So to raise us to life He took measures, audacious.

Selflessly He chose to be beaten and torn,
To be nailed to a cross and crowned with thorn.

He cried out, “It’s finished!”, then lowered His head.
After His blood was spilled, He was buried, quite dead.

But in the tomb, for long, He did not stay.
He rose back to life on the third day.

The King of Righteousness now offers to all,
Forgiveness and life if we answer His call.

Glory to God, the Lamb who died on a tree;
He will reign forever in matchless glory.
