From Wolf to Lamb

I am a little lamb, but I used to be a wolf.
I’ve traded in my paw, for a meek and sheeply hoof.

I was born a sinner and used to live for myself,
But my life radically changed when I met love, Himself.

Jesus spoke to me and said, “Son, lay down your arms,
I love you, but I will put a swift end to all your harms.

Sin happens not in a vacuum, but always does hurt others;
It feeds, spreads its seeds, and all joy and life smothers.

Surrender unto Me, and I will give you rest.
All who trust my Word, by sin, no longer are possessed.

I died to pay your ransom when I bled on Calvary.
I devoured your transgression so that you might be free.

But I will not force you to listen to My voice;
I’ve given ability to love with the dignity of choice.”

Encountered with such kindness I melted into my Lord’s embrace;
Defanged, I fell defeated, confessed my sin and kissed His face.

With grace and love He conquered me, the risen Jesus Christ.
To die, to bring me to Him, He deemed not too high priced.

From wolf to lamb He made me as my heart He transformed.
No greater act of mercy has ever been performed.

Those who accept His gift to be made into His sheep,
Will be cleansed of their sin, live in a new Earth and no more weep.

There is a new world coming; Jesus is making all things new.
But only those who trust Him will, this new world, be brought into.

For, no wolves shall be allowed to enter in and, His sheep, steal.
All who reject Him will, with the serpent, be crushed beneath Christ’s heel.

So come now to the Savior, I beg you please do not delay.
To eternal life and joy, Jesus is the only way.
