One Quiet, Beautiful Day

On one quiet, beautiful day,
The sun shone bright as I looked around.
The blue sky gave a stunning display,
Of my wondrous Creator by whom I’ve been found.

For though I once was lost,
The God of all creation,
Fully paid my sin’s cost,
And saved me from condemnation.

Next, in silence I gazed upon,
A tall and towering tree,
And thought of my Savior Who won,
The victory over death, and set me free.

For, to the very wood He created,
Jesus was brutally nailed.
So that our sin could be negated,
With spikes His flesh was impaled.

The Source of all beauty and order,
Willingly condescended to such painful disgrace.
He crossed over Heaven’s border,
To show us mercy and grace.

The One who made the mouth of man,
Let out blood curdling, pain drenched moans.
Though we sinned, it was His plan,
To die for us amidst anguished groans.

Jesus Christ, the Lord Almighty,
Came first not with bow and sword.
To pay for our sin and set things right He,
Laid down His life as His blood poured.

The Spring from Whom all life sprung,
Was killed and put in a tomb.
But though His heel, by the serpent, was stung,
This did not spell His doom.

For, three days later the Lord of glory,
King Jesus walked out of the grave.
Though He died in a manner most gory,
He conquered death and is mighty to save.

He Who created the mighty oak,
And raised up the towering cedar,
Fulfilled every word He spoke;
Christ truly is our all-powerful Leader.

He Who rolled out the beautiful sky,
And formed the great oceans deep,
In love came down to die,
And rescue us, His lost sheep.

As we walk through this great big world,
Survey its beauty and look around,
Give glory to Him on Whom death was hurled,
So that we, who’re lost in sin, might be found.

Jesus Christ is the God of creation,
Blessed be His glorious Name.
By the cross He saved us from damnation,
And devoured all our sin and shame.
