All Soon Fade Away

With the passing of the season,
As the green leaves wilt,
We see a preview of the treason,
Our bodies hurtle towards full tilt.

All that once was young and hale,
In this world will suffer decay.
Like mist when the sun does assail,
We will all soon fade away.

So, revel not in fleeting feats,
For, they will soon be forgotten.
Chase not after this world’s sweets;
In a short while they’ll be rotten.

Everything down here degrades;
Fall not for riches’ deceitful allure.
Live not for this world that fades,
But for the one that will endure.

Although this life is short,
Not all endeavors are useless.
What’s done for Christ is of great import,
And will yield a harvest that’s not fruitless.

There is a new world coming,
And all who trust Jesus shall live there.
They will not, to death, be succumbing,
But live forever in bodies that don’t wear.

The Kingdom of Heaven will descend,
And the fallen kingdom of this world will be toppled,
All tears will be brought to an end,
And death and decay will, forever, be stoppled.

Though Christ’s kingdom isn’t here in fullness,
Currently it does, against Hell, advance.
And we, who’ve been saved from our sinfulness,
In Christ are given a glorious chance,

To take part in the work He is doing,
In the hearts of many to bring His kingdom in.
Through our works, His lost sheep, He’s pursuing,
That they might know truth and repent of their sin.

So forsake now all worldly pursuits,
And be faithful where God has, you, planted.
By His Spirit, produce eternal fruits,
In accordance with the gifts you have been granted.

Love others not in word only,
But proclaim to them Christ’s love in deed.
In the Name of Him Who’s gently and lowly,
Abundant Grace be with you and Godspeed.
