A Single, Small Person

In one small corner of this great big world,
Just a single small person am I.
Though insignificant, in pain, and on the ground curled,
The Most High has, on me, cast His eye.

While mankind is but a passing mist,
To God each of us is important.
Even the one who, in betrayal, Him kissed,
If he repented, would have faced a torrent,

Of love, mercy, grace and peace,
Flowing from the heart of God.
For, to pay for our sin and, us, from death release,
God Himself went under the rod.

Jesus Christ our Savior, God in the flesh,
Esteems us of such high value,
He even submitted to death to refresh,
The souls of both me and you.

Above all, He is King of kings,
Whose glory should and shall be known.
The universe, with His glory, resounds and rings,
And to further this He left His throne.

Full of truth and grace He came,
To Earth born as a man.
To reveal the glory due His Name,
He enacted His loving plan.

Our sin, it violates God’s law,
And for it we deserve to die.
But the Lion of Judah stretched out each paw,
To, payment for our sin, supply.

Revealing His glory in a most powerful way,
Jesus was tortured and killed.
But then He rose up on the third day,
Proving the debt for our sin, He fulfilled.

Humble we must be, and this is right,
But also know that it is true,
The King of all glory conquered the night,
And, in love, He looks on me and you.

Come now to Jesus; to His name sing praise;
Hallelujah to the Lamb that was slain.
Repent and trust in Him; the Ancient of Days.
He is perfect in all of His ways.
