Everyone Must Make A Decision

Everyone must make a decision.
Choose this day who you will serve.
If you meet the idea of service with derision,
Hold back judgment and, my words, observe.

All live in service to someone;
Be it God, their appetites, or idols.
But hear this, only those who serve God’s Son,
Bear light and rest giving bridles.

For, all other masters men choose,
In seeking for purpose and satisfaction,
In truth only weigh down and abuse;
Tending to ever worsening dissatisfaction.

We were created to love and serve God,
And to serve anything else is sin.
When we reject God and with evil trod,
It leads to Hell where we’ll be locked within.

There is only One Who can quench our soul’s thirst;
The One by Whom and for Whom we’re made.
Those who trust any else but Christ will be cursed;
It is only by Him that life is conveyed.

And because we’ve all wandered and strayed,
Into sin we now belong to death.
But in love God has come to our aid,
And to save us gave up His own breath.

Selflessly in our place Jesus died;
The Master became, for the servants, a sacrifice.
Faced with such mercy we now must decide,
If we’ll trust Him Who paid this high price.

They who believe the Lord will be blessed;
Trust in every word He has spoken.
In Christ all wrongs will be redressed;
To pay our ransom His body was broken.

But those who reject Him and choose to serve evil,
Will be given up to what they want:
To be severed from Jesus, the Life, without reprieval,
And suffer forever in Hell’s fiery font.

In reality there is only two masters,
Though the evil one wears varied masks.
Trust Christ and be saved from sin’s disasters;
Eagerly He forgives all who, Him, asks.

Hallelujah to the Lamb that was slain;
Jesus, our now and future King.
Forever in glory He will reign,
And of His manifold excellencies we shall sing.
