Be Not Ashamed

Be not ashamed of the Son of Man;
Hold fast His Word and be quick to share.
To humanity in desperate need, He ran,
And our fellows must be made aware.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of Glory;
The all-powerful Ancient of Days.
To pay for our sin He died a death gory,
For He is gracious and loving in all His ways.

Repent of sin and in Him believe,
Then go forth and share the gospel boldly.
If your witness is met with scorn and you grieve,
The Lord Christ Himself will hold and console thee.

In serving Jesus adversity will be faced,
For the servant is not above their Master.
As we carry a cross and are disgraced,
Christ shall lead us to eternal life through temporal disaster.

Although He was killed and buried,
In three days He rose from the tomb.
Now by Him, all His sheep, will be carried,
Into paradise; rescued from death’s doom.

So, having been saved and raised from the dead,
Do not, of our Savior, be ashamed.
Out of loving loyalty to Him, the Heavenly Bread,
Let’s see to it that His Word is proclaimed.

Our Lord Jesus Himself has warned,
Those who’re ashamed of Him and His word,
When He returns in glory adorned,
They will have, His shame of them, incurred.

Live for the glory of God above,
That will never tarnish or fade.
Be not ashamed of Him Who died in love,
So our debt for sin could be paid.

All of us will stand before God’s throne;
What good will fallen men’s praise do then?
Forgiveness and life is found in Christ alone;
Live for His glory and not that of men.

Worldly shame born for Jesus’ sake now,
Will result in eternal honor and glory.
By God’s grace keep your hand on the plow,
For in Him we have the true victory.
