When for Christ’s sake you’re reviled,
Be neither angry nor get riled.
They who choose sinful disaster,
Will, for themselves, answer to the Master.
Meet each insult with grace,
So that our Lord’s Name we don’t disgrace.
Shake the dust off of your feet,
And pray, with repentance, they’ll soon meet.
For God alone can raise dead hearts;
Only His Spirit, new life, imparts.
We are but called to share the message,
Having been saved from our own wreckage.
We must remember we’re not better,
But are in fact a fellow debtor,
Who has been saved by grace,
From our own sinful disgrace.
And we’ve been saved to be a blessing,
To our fellows trapped in transgressing.
We’re called to go out and proclaim,
With grace, there is no other Name,
But Jesus Christ who’s mighty to save;
And He rose up from the grave.
The stakes could not be higher,
And our Lord He does desire,
To use us in His mission,
To many, from death to life, transition.
But the world is under a curse,
And as we publicly, the gospel, rehearse,
We will be met with derision,
Just as Christ was in His mission.
The student is not above the Teacher,
And His sheep are called to be a preacher,
In some small measure to those around,
That they who’re lost may soon be found.
For God’s heart is full of love,
And He descended from above,
To give His life for me and you,
So let’s share this gospel that’s true.
Much grace has been shown to us,
By our risen King Jesus.
Though we did once Him despise,
We have been granted Heaven’s prize.
Now, so that others might know this joy,
Let us, His truth with grace, deploy.
