The Supplicant:
Oh Lord, who can approach Thee?
Certainly not a sinner such as I.
In perfect justice You’ve declared rightly,
“The soul that sins shall die.”
All have fallen short of Your glory,
And are doomed to eternal want and thirst.
Sad and pitiful is our story;
For our sin we’re cut off from You, accursed.
The Father:
Indeed from Me you have been severed,
Because of your rebellion and sin.
But a redemptive work by Me has been endeavored,
That to My Garden you may again enter in.
I Am the One you thirst for,
For I made you for Myself.
Because I love you I have made war,
With sin to remove you from death’s shelf.
I have sent to you My Son;
God incarnate in human flesh.
For those who trust Him, sin’s curse is undone,
And their parched souls I will refresh.
The Supplicant:
Hear my brothers, listen well;
God has given us a Savior.
And indeed He’s come to, with us, dwell;
Hark now, He’s declared the year of the Lord’s favor.
The Son:
Come to Me all you who thirst;
Be sated with the blood that flowed from My side.
Of the resurrection of the dead, I Am first,
For I rose again though I died.
Your sins indeed are many,
But My mercy is so much more.
I left behind Heaven’s splendor and plenty,
To batter down Hell’s door.
Repent of your sin and come to Me;
I am Jesus Christ, your Lord and God.
I died for your sin to set you free,
And raise you to life to, with Me, trod.
With My death I paid your ransom,
Because of My love for you.
Take My hand, climb into My hansom,
And receive eternal life joyful and true.
The Redeemed Supplicant:
Blessed art Thou oh Lord,
To receive all glory, honor and blessing.
Your love and grace on us has poured,
And forever Your praise we’ll be professing.
