Take Hold of The Plow

Take hold of the plow and don’t look back;
This world has nothing to offer you.
Fix your gaze on Him Who faced death’s attack,
And in three days rose to life anew.

Do not live today for,
What will be gone tomorrow.
Those who, the truth of reality, ignore,
Will be subject to eternal sorrow.

The truth is we’re created by God,
And this life on Earth’s a vapor.
We were made to, with Him, trod;
Walking hand in hand with our Shaper.

Only in Him is true satisfaction found,
But we’ve been cut off by our sin.
However, His love and grace does abound,
So we may yet again, His kingdom, enter in.

By grace through faith He saves us;
For He has paid our ransom price.
In selfless love our God, King Jesus,
Died for our sin and rose in days thrice.

Now all who repent and in Him trust,
Are saved and brought into His family.
He delights to raise us from the dust,
And save us from calamity.

Once we have been saved,
We are called to take part in Christ’s mission,
Of bringing hope to those, by sin, enslaved;
It is a glorious expedition.

Live not for love of the world,
But let love for Christ overflow to others.
Tell them how our sin on Him was hurled,
And we may become His sisters and brothers.

Following Jesus, firmly grip the plow,
And live for His kingdom that will not fade.
The fallen world we live in now,
Will soon be destroyed and remade.

Although down here we have trouble,
The Lord Jesus has overcome.
Everything here one day will be rubble,
But to decay we will not succumb.

The pleasures of this world will soon be past;
But pleasure and joy in Christ will forever increase.
What is done for Him will always last,
And yield a peace that does not cease.

While on this journey, fix your gaze,
On Jesus’ loving face.
Offer up prayer and shouts of praise;
Soon we’ll be home and, Him, embrace.
