Take heart little lamb,
The Good Shepherd’s watching over you.
The all-creating great I Am,
Keeps you always in His view.
Under His wings, take shelter;
Unto Jesus Christ draw near.
When anxiety runs helter skelter,
His presence silences all fear.
In a world of chaotic, riotous waves,
He leads us to still water.
With green pasture, our path, He paves;
We’re held fast in the kind hands of the Potter.
His rod and staff provide us comfort,
In love He disciplines and in might, protects.
Even as we sleep He is ever alert;
He never, our need, neglects.
His love for us is a mighty torrent,
And also a cool, flowing stream.
We see this as on the cross He underwent,
Suffering, in our place, most extreme.
For Jesus is the Good Shepherd,
Who lays His life down for His sheep.
So that we would not, from Him, be severed,
He dove down into darkness deep.
He bore the full and crushing weight,
Of all our sin on the cross.
He Who in seven days did, all, create,
Consumed in full our sinful dross.
Then He rose up from the grave,
Defeating sin, death, and Hell.
The Lamb of God willingly, His life, gave,
So that we may, with Him, dwell.
Little lamb please now take heart,
Our gracious God Who died for you,
Will never, from you, depart,
No matter what you go through.
He sees the path that lies ahead,
And walks with us every step of the way.
Although through dark valleys we may tread,
Christ is leading us to a land free of decay.
From the bad down here He produces good,
And one day soon will bring an end to sorrow.
He Who on the cross, in our place, stood,
Is carrying us to a brighter tomorrow.
Look up dear one; be of good cheer.
All of Christ’s lambs, He does lovingly cherish.
His love is selfless and sincere;
Not even in death will we, His lambs, perish.
