Can our sin ever be washed away;
Can what’s crimson be made white as snow?
Can those trapped in darkness ever see light of day,
Or are they doomed to gloomy, pitch black sorrow?
Is there hope of redemption for sinners;
Those who have broken God’s law?
Can us who’re lost in sin become winners;
Snatched from defeat in death’s jaw?
The just penalty for sin is death,
And, in love, our God rules with justice.
We’ve all forfeited the right to have breath;
There is not an innocent one among us.
If our salvation depends upon us,
Then we are hopelessly doomed.
But praise be to the Lord Jesus,
Who, all of our sin, has consumed.
Jesus, our God, the Most High,
In love paid the price we couldn’t pay.
Willingly in our place He did die,
And rose again on the third day.
By the blood of Him Who knew no sin,
Our sin stained souls can be washed white.
Into His presence we can be brought in,
To bask in His glorious light.
He, the Judge, left His seat,
And took our place in the dock.
Nails were driven through His hands and feet,
So that we may again, with Him, walk.
He created us to live with Him,
But in our sin we rejected His love.
Yet on the cross He extended both limbs,
To cleanse and raise us up above.
Reach out to Him; lift your voice.
Accept His offer of redemption.
No greater love is there than His choice,
To die to restore our connection.
In Christ alone is hope found;
He is a fountain of life, love and grace.
He was spit on, beaten and bound,
As the propitiation for Adam’s race.
By the blood of the Lamb, come be cleansed,
And receive His offer of eternal life.
By grace, through faith Jesus does extend,
The promise of a forever free all strife.
