The Job of All Creation

Tweet, tweet, tweet, goes the bird in the tree.
To which I say, “Hello, are you chirping at me?”

“No,” he says, “Not you, though I welcome you to listen.
I’m singing the praise of my Creator, at Whose command the sun has risen.

He provided food today, and gave me these splendid wings;
I warble for the glory of Jesus the King of kings.”

Scamper, scamper, scamper, goes the lizard on the ground,
But periodically he stops, basking in the sun where warmth is found.

Then I said, “Hi there, has my presence startled you?”
But he replied, “Not much; this is simply what I was made to do.

Take a lesson from me, pause every now and then;
Bask in the glow of the true Son; Jesus the Savior men.”

Twinkle, twinkle, twinkle, goes the bright and shining star,
As it glows in the night, effusing radiance from afar.

“Greetings shining one. To the night you lend such beauty.”
But he’s quick to reply, “This is only my duty.

The heaven’s job, and all creation, is to declare God’s glory.
It is by and for Him we were made; He’s the center of the story.”

From these created things and others, we gain much food for thought.
None of us made ourselves; by our Maker we’ve been wrought.

We were made for His glory, and to dwell with Him in joyful rest.
God loves all of us deeply, and desires what for us is best.

True purpose and peace are found in knowing God through faith in Jesus.
He died so we might be found; with His blood, from sin, He frees us.

By grace through faith in Christ we can be saved and join with creation,
In reflecting the glory of our Maker, in Whom alone is found salvation.

Repent now and trust in Jesus; become what you were made to be.
In Him eternal life is granted, and fullness of joy is a guarantee.
