Matchless in splendor and holy,
Is Jesus the Lord Most High.
Yet He is also gentle and lowly;
He gave His life to, life to us, supply.
Enthroned in Heaven and highly exalted,
Our God is Master of all time and space.
But willingly for our sin He was assaulted,
As men spit on and struck His face.
Christ Jesus is King of kings;
The uncreated Creator of all.
It is He of Whom all Heaven sings,
And in our place He chose to fall.
Besides Him there is none greater,
And in none is there greater love.
Though we rejected Him, our Creator,
He came to save us from above.
God made us to with Him dwell,
Forever as members of His royal family.
But we did not trust Him and fell,
Into darkness for our sinful calamity.
To watch us fall God could not bear,
So He fell to bear us up.
Now because of His selfless love and care,
We can be raised with Him and sup.
Sin against God has a cost;
Its wages are Hell and death.
But though God’s law we have crossed,
He died to restore our breath.
Jesus’ Divine blood was spilled,
For the sin of mankind on Calvary.
Payment for our debt He’s fulfilled;
Now all who trust Him can go free.
He defeated sin and the grave,
For He rose up on the third day.
He is gracious and mighty to save;
Christ alone is the Life, Truth and Way.
Just as in splendor He’s matchless,
In mercy and love He’s unrivaled.
All who repent and belief in Him profess,
Will no longer by death be bridled.
Jesus’ followers are free indeed,
And they will live with Him forever.
If “Christ is Lord” be our creed,
No power can, us from Him, sever.
All glory and honor to the Lamb,
Who for the world’s sin was slain.
He is the Most High, the great I Am,
Whose kingdom shall forever increase and remain.
