God’s Table

Since the rebellion at Babel, mankind has splintered into warring factions.
But in Christ unity will be restored; He will undo the penalty for Babel’s infractions.

From every corner of the globe people will come and recline at God’s table.
To assemble this great host, only the Lord Jesus is able.

He is building up His kingdom; adopting for Himself a family,
Of redeemed people from every nation, redeemed from sin’s calamity.

In our sin, restoration can’t be had, but King Jesus, He is able,
To rejoin what was broken in the fall, and gather us around one table.

To do this He’s dealt with sin by dying in our place on the cross.
To die for the sin of the world, He did not consider to be loss.

As He made this willing sacrifice, He looked ahead to the future joy,
Of gathering His lost sheep around one table, no longer subject to death’s employ.

Because of His great love Christ suffered so we might be raised to life.
To all who trust Him salvation is supplied, along with a future promise of rest from strife.

People from every tribe and nation will be granted the gift of repentance.
A glorious tapestry of many cultures, at His table, will be in attendance.

In Jesus’ eternal kingdom there will be beautiful differences and perfect unity;
People from east, west, north and south, united by the love of Him Who died on a tree.

All are invited to this glorious assembly that will convene and revel forever.
Repent of sin and trust in Jesus Who paid our debt with His redemptive endeavor.

Our God is the Lord of the feast, and to treat us is His delight.
Believe in Him and forsake the beast; leave behind darkness and walk in His light.
