I don’t have the words to tell of God’s goodness,
At least not adequately.
His glory cannot be expounded in fulness,
But to start with, well, He loves me.
I don’t deserve it; I’m a sinner and rebel,
But with mercy His heart’s overflowing.
In this big universe I’m hardly a pebble,
But, grace on us, the Lord delights in bestowing.
Though I’m so small and have broken His law,
The Almighty has not cast me aside.
The Lion of Judah stretched out His paw,
To bring me into His pride.
Jesus, our God, was born as a man,
To suffer and die for our sin.
Because of His love, He enacted His plan,
To us, back from death, win.
He reigns in the heavens and rules the Earth;
Whatever good we enjoy is from Him.
But best of all, we are given rebirth,
And saved from darkness most grim.
We do not deserve this; it is a gift.
Our God is supremely good.
From Hell’s depths to Heaven’s heights He does lift,
All who trust that, in their place, He stood.
Salvation is offered to one and all,
Who repent of sin and trust in Christ.
Believe that Jesus for our sin did fall,
And that His blood for our ransom sufficed.
He gives rain to the farmer and fish to the fisher,
But best of all He gives life to the dead.
He bridged the uncrossable gap of sin’s fissure,
When He died on the cross with arms spread.
Jesus was killed and buried for three days,
But then He rose back to life.
Now through faith in Him, the Ancient of Days,
We can be cleansed of sin and strife.
Our good God not only saves us from Hell,
But also for glorious life eternal.
All who believe Him will in paradise dwell,
And never see the pit infernal.
Hallelujah to Christ our Lord;
Jesus our Savior and God.
From Heaven on high His mercy is poured;
His followers, with new life, He does shod.
