In Faith We Press On

In faith we press on to what lies ahead;
To a land without fear where death is dead.
On this journey we’re sustained by the heavenly Bread,
Feasting on the words our Lord Jesus said.

We’re travelling onward through the night,
Following our Savior, Jesus the Light.
In love He came down for us to fight,
And defeated the dragon in glorious might.

Now He is leading us to our home,
Through this fallen world to perfect shalom.
He stills the mighty waves that froth and foam,
And draws us to Himself to no longer roam.

Blessed be His name we will praise Him forever,
No power of Hell can us from Christ sever.
We were lost in darkness and death however,
Jesus rescued us with His selfless endeavor.

Willingly He, our God, died in our place,
To pay for our sin and bear our disgrace.
He is the ransom for Adam’s race,
And it is His delight to show us much grace.

Christ chose to suffer and be crucified;
Before His last breath, “It is finished!” He cried.
Then for three days, a tomb, He was put inside,
But for no longer in there did He reside.

He rose back to life in victory over the grave,
For, to death and sin, Jesus is no slave.
He invites all to come and be forgave;
Christ the Lord alone is mighty to save.

Repent of sin and trust in Jesus today;
He is the one and only Life, Truth and Way.
Gaze on Him now by faith and His love survey;
It was for us, His own life down, He did lay.

And He our good Shepherd is leading us through,
The shadow of death to life eternal and true.
His heart is full of love for both me and you,
And one day soon of Him we’ll get a clear view.

What now is faith before long will become sight,
We’ll pass through death’s veil and up to Heaven take flight.
So be of good cheer and let this truth, hope, ignite,
For all who trust Jesus, our future is bright.
