Trouble, trouble, there’s trouble in my soul.
Jesus, Jesus, please comfort my troubled soul.
Trouble, trouble, trouble in my soul.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, please comfort my troubled soul.
Oh Lord God my soul is troubled, with sorrow I’m overcome.
Lift me out of the rot and rubble lest to despair I succumb.
I’m bent low and my heart is achin’; I’m struggling to take the next step.
Beset with pain and my faith is shakin’, I’ve been dragged down to a dark depth.
In this broken world sodden with tears, You alone are my heart’s delight.
Please dear Jesus silence my fears; my Lord, my Life, my Light.
Trouble, trouble, trouble in my soul.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, come fish me outta this hole.
Give my troubled spirit strength for in You the dead shall rise.
Lift me up out of the pit; the snare of Satan’s lies.
Come to me amidst the breakers and haul me up on my feet.
With You even the stormy seas we walk on like concrete.
In this world I’ve naught but trouble, but in You I have peace.
Though I’ve borne sin’s chains and shackles, You’ve given me release.
Trouble, trouble, trouble in my soul.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, please my sad heart console.
Though once I had strayed and wandered; into wastelands I did roam,
I heard the voice of my good Shepherd and He is leading me home.
Lord, for the joy that’s set before me, help me to persevere.
No matter what this world throws at me, I’m content if You are near.
Take me down to cool, still streams and in green pastures give me rest.
Everyone who calls upon You is comforted and blessed.
No more trouble, trouble, trouble in my soul.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, did cleanse make me whole.
