Lord, help us to love one another just as You have loved us.
And let the love we have for each other show that we follow You, Jesus.
In my flesh I’m weak and selfish; I don’t put other’s needs above mine.
Holy Spirit press down on me, purify and bring forth new wine.
You saw me drowning, weak and helpless, and rushed down to my aid.
And because the sentence of death was on me, places with me, You did trade.
Teach me to prioritize what gives You glory and joy.
And every self-centered inclination in me, by Your grace, destroy.
Make my heart a flowing fountain that floods this world with Your love.
Purify every desire within me; let Your goodness pour in from above.
Lord, help us to love one another just as You have loved us.
And let the love we have for each other show that we follow You, Jesus.
The greatest love that’s ever been known was seen in Your death on the cross.
Though we all rebelled against You, aside us, You did not toss.
For our sin You laid Your life down and in three days rose from the grave.
You were beaten, bloodied and wore a thorny crown to, our lost souls, save.
Lord, Your love is like no other; it is humble, selfless and true.
And when we love people in the same way, of You they get a small view.
All are invited to call upon You and be forgiven their sin.
With arms wide open You beckon to us, eager to welcome us in.
So, Lord, help us to love one another just as You have loved us.
And let the love we have for each other show that we follow You, Jesus.
