Through caverns deep and valleys dark,
To our loving Savior’s voice we hark.
Though we wandered, us He pursued,
That He might our sinful doom preclude.
Seeing us, fallen face down,
Into sin’s dark pit where we were sure to drown,
He descended and took our place,
To die for us and shoulder our disgrace.
For His heart is full of love,
And He desires to raise us to life above.
This, Christ has done, for when He died,
With His righteous blood, our ransom He supplied.
Though He was buried for three dark days,
He rose again to joyful shouts of praise.
Now unto all who’re in the tombs,
His loving call goes forth, resounds and booms:
“Come to Me, I Am the Light.
Repent of sin, and towards My voice take flight.
Through faith in Me, be raised to life.
Receive My joy, in place of death and strife.”
I bid you all, hear Jesus’ call.
Know the love of Him, Who in our place did fall.
He is our great and loving God,
Come down to caverns deep to lead us as we trod.
All who harken to His loving voice,
Have ample reason to sing praise and to rejoice.
Our Good Shepherd is leading us home,
Through the darkest depths unto perfect shalom.
Hallelujah to the great I Am,
Jesus Christ the King Who is the spotless Lamb.
On the cross He won the victory,
And as is right He’s now, enthroned high in glory.
