Come Lord Jesus

The night is dark and full of terrors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
All the earth is filled with tremors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.

Oh Lord on this earth we face sore trials and death;
Until You return give us grace, and sustain our breath.

There is sickness and affliction; persecution too.
Mighty God and loving Father, hold us close to You.

Lest we stumble in the darkness, Lord please guide our path.
Deliver us from the dark one, and his hateful wrath.

From the wolf, we need protection, for we are but sheep.
In Your fold please guard us safely; watch us as we sleep.

The night is dark and full of terrors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
All the earth is filled with tremors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.

Though the mountains should be thrown into the heaving sea,
Our faith will remain in You, Who rose on day three.

Even if the ground gives way ‘neath our feeble feet,
Our foundation still You’ll be, solid and concrete.

Neither famine, storm nor sword have we need to fear;
Jesus Christ our sovereign Lord, to us You are near.

Lift our eyes to behold You in Your radiant light.
You have not been overcome by this world’s dark night.

The night is dark and full of terrors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
All the earth is filled with tremors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.

Blessed Jesus please return; Father send Your Son.
Fully bring Your kingdom in, for the war is won.

The Spirit and the Bride cry out, “Return, oh Christ the King.
Come Lord Jesus, hear our shout. It’s to You we sing.”

Oh God please make this the day when the clouds shall part;
When You drive evil away and tell death to depart.

We long to hear the trumpet sound, for You’re coming soon.
King of kings and Lord of lords, haste this triumphal tune.

The night is dark and full of terrors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
All the earth is filled with tremors.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
