I am no one of consequence,
But the Most High cares for me.
In Christ alone I place my confidence;
The Master of all land, sky and sea.
Who am I that I should be known?
My life is but mist before the sun.
Yet on me God’s face has shown,
For, to save me He gave His Son.
I am nothing, a veritable nobody;
Not even an ant compared to God.
But to Him I am in fact somebody,
And with me He has chosen to trod.
I have sinned and broken His law,
And for this I deserve to die.
But I’m filled with wonder and awe,
To find that my ransom He did supply.
Jesus, the God of all creation,
Took my sin on His own back.
To make me a familial relation,
He descended to face death’s attack.
With sin Christ was never muddied,
But He was murdered and put in a tomb.
He suffered much, was beaten and bloodied;
He faced what should have been my doom.
Then He rose again on the third day;
He defeated sin, hell and the grave.
For a no one like me He made a way,
For all my sin to be forgave.
He offers salvation to all mankind;
Everyone is someone to God.
All those who seek Him shall find,
And no longer with death’s chains be shod.
He is drawing to Himself a family,
Of sinners redeemed from the fall.
It’s His desire to save us from calamity;
All we need do is answer His call.
Repent now and in Christ believe;
His heart for you is full of love.
Through faith, eternal life, you’ll receive,
And be raised to dwell with Him above.
Hallelujah to the Lord Jesus Christ;
The Lamb of God Who was slain.
To die for us He deemed not too high priced,
But considered our salvation His gain.
