Praise be to Jesus, the Lord of light,
He assaulted death and won the fight;
He descended to darkness and conquered the night.
He is righteous, holy and unmatched in might.
All glory to Christ, the King of kings;
Living water from Him, to us, springs.
Of His power and beauty all Heaven sings;
To all who trust Him, eternal life He brings.
All have sinned and deserve to die,
And be forever cut off from the Most High.
But our loving God has heard our cry,
And gave His Son to, us back from death, buy.
In selfless love God died in our place,
For His humble heart overflows with grace.
In order to wrap us in a warm embrace,
Jesus willingly suffered in dire disgrace.
He was nailed to a cross on Calvary,
Where He suffered an ordeal most gory.
Yet on that beam He was exalted in glory,
As over sin and Hell, He won the victory.
After being killed, Christ was laid in a tomb,
But none of this spelt His doom.
By His own death, death He did consume,
And in three days, out the tomb He did bloom.
He rose to life and saves us from the fall,
All we need do is repent and to Him call.
Jesus is King, over and in all.
Trust in Him today; do not forestall.
Our debt for sin, none of us can afford,
But there’s One in Heaven by Whom we’re adored.
He paid our ransom when His righteous blood poured;
He’s the Name above all names; Christ Jesus the Lord.
Praise be to Jesus, the Ancient of Days;
He is loving and gracious in all of His ways.
He delights to redeem us, and from the dead raise,
That we may dwell with Him, and on His face gaze.
